I’m guessing the majority of you here range in age from 25 to 35. I’m at the low end there. Those that are unmarried, what do you usually have for dinner? Actually, let’s open the floor to even the married gentlemen. I have another dilemma. Actually, this isn’t serious at all – I ask mainly out of curiosity.
Growing up, my mother cooked and thus we always had a fresh, healthy meal at the table to end our evenings. In undergrad, living off my father’s dime and care-free in youth of health considerations, I consumed frozen store-bought items or raided drive-throughs, possibly taking off a few years of my life. Towards the latter end of my days at Texas, I would cook, but this emasculating act is not something I enjoy.
At present moment, with the rigorous demands of school and behind-the-scenes maintenance of this page, I just can’t muster the energy to bring water to boil. Grilling is quick but I no longer have patience for cleaning meat. A possible solution was preparation in mass on Sundays, but even those hours used could be better spent. I had been utilizing a catering service geared specifically to students at a reasonable price, but have soured on this option as well.
So I must inquire as to what you all do for dinner. Fast-food is pricey, both on the pocket and the arteries; frozen dinners destroy the latter. And there’s no way any of you guys are cooking, at least if in graduate school. What’s the best solution in accords with cost, health, and time considerations?
