Huq’s Pen: Is Kyle Lowry a closer?

I tweeted this question last night and had been giving it thought since the Spurs win.  I think back to a TrueHoop article discussing Chris Paul’s role in giving the Hornets the NBA’s most efficient clutch-time offense.  Upon consideration of the term ‘closer,’ an image is instantly conjured of a ball-dominating quarterback, ala a Kobe or Deron Williams, someone in whose hands the spherical orbit is glued.  Kyle Lowry does not fit this description.  Yet I wonder, perhaps its his ability to make the right decision, and his gift of inside passing, coupled with the weapons around him in this system, that is creating that ‘closer’ effect.  At the end of the day, the vehicle for success is just the smart decision itself, not the process through which it is made.

Is Kyle Lowry a closer?
