I hate stating the obvious, and it’s been beaten to beyond cliche in the last few years, but the state of big man play right now in the NBA is utterly embarrassing, as evidenced by this afternoon’s Game 1 between the Magic and Celtics. I can’t really even fathom Kendrick Perkins attempting to guard Hakeem Olajuwon with single coverage, and holding him to 3-10 shooting like he did with the league’s current best big man.
