@  Fury : (06 July 2015 - 09:51 PM) The Spurs just got West..... They have a legitimate backup big not named Diaw. They never needed one before.
@  redfaithful : (06 July 2015 - 07:50 PM) Any chance Celtics moving him?
@  thejohnnygold : (06 July 2015 - 06:14 PM) Evan Turner???? Classic buy low player for Morey.
@  Mario Peña : (06 July 2015 - 05:57 PM) Agreed. It'll probably be someone we are not expecting again.
@  thejohnnygold : (06 July 2015 - 05:08 PM) @Mario--Yes, I think waiting until January/February gives us a chance to see who has improved (Nick Johnson) and who is getting traded (Jones/Papa). By then, other teams will likely have some PG's available for cheaper than they are right now (Jennings/Collison/Lawson)
@  thejohnnygold : (06 July 2015 - 04:59 PM) @losthief--yeah, I understand that...it still sends a message to me that he isn't as good as people think he might be. I guess we'll find out this season :)
@  Losthief : (06 July 2015 - 04:02 PM) JG they let him go cause they got LMA and needed cap space...
@  Mario Peña : (06 July 2015 - 03:53 PM) Also guys, I heard Jonathan Feigan the Rockets beat writer on 610 am yesterday say that he thinks Morey doesn't make any moves till in season. I like the move towards stability and I hope Smith comes back.
@  Mario Peña : (06 July 2015 - 03:47 PM) @johnnygold, yup I think they are standing pat which was the plan all along but midway through the season if they can pick up some point guard insurance it will help relieve James and in the playoffs right?
@  MrZeno1911 : (06 July 2015 - 03:33 PM) I can see us making a move this week, if not, then i'm not that excited for this season. We need to lock up Smith and go after that secondary guard. We have a 2 (serviceable) guard rotation. Take notice around the league and a lot of teams are stacked at the 1 and 2 positions. We have enough 4's and 3's to make a workable trade and not lose any of our depth. We can beat any of the teams in the WCF if we stay healthy and we keep the team together, we literally would have a 10 man rotation.
@  thejohnnygold : (06 July 2015 - 02:31 PM) @Mario--at this point I think we are looking at trading for a PG mid-season if at all.
@  thejohnnygold : (06 July 2015 - 02:30 PM) For those who coveted Cory Jospeh, San Antonio just let him walk for nothing. What does that say? Of course, he got snatched up pretty fast by Toronto...
@  Mario Peña : (06 July 2015 - 11:42 AM) Of the remaining point guards I like Norris Cole.
@  jorgeaam : (06 July 2015 - 05:32 AM) It works tho
@  cointurtlemoose : (06 July 2015 - 05:17 AM) Yeah, bboley, may be just you. Haha.
@  thenit : (06 July 2015 - 02:11 AM) out of the remaining pgs Lin is their best option utilizing the pick and roll with DJ, the cupboard is bare. Doesn't move the needle for us but we have a tougher division this year than the past season
@  jorgeaam : (05 July 2015 - 11:01 PM) Wow the Mavs want Lin, lol
@  bboley24 : (05 July 2015 - 10:47 PM) It's just me isn't it?
@  bboley24 : (05 July 2015 - 10:47 PM) Is it just me or does Kevin Durant have an ugly shot?
@  jorgeaam : (05 July 2015 - 07:51 PM) Hibbert is a 7'2 player who can't get a rebound to save his life, don't count on it

Adrian Wojnarowski has reported we sent him to Milwaukee as part of a package

Dalembert and the 14th pick go the Bucks for the 12th pick, Jon Brockman, Jon Leurer and Brockman, sources tell Y!

Shaun Livingston also goes to the Rockets as part of the package, sources tell Y!

I gotta be honest, I thought Dally's contract (with its buy-out) would be worth more. There were rumors that Sacramento really wanted it.

Not bad only move up two spots but we can dump Livingston and probably buyout brokman. Leuer is actually a decent player might be worth keeping around.

I think that assumes we'll be dumping most of the roster in the next couple of days. If we can't make a big move we'll have to get out the ol' cutting knife.

Conflicting reports not Ken Berger saying we might be going after Gasol, Ford says we aren't pursuing anymore

Berger: http://www.cbssports...at-howard-gasol
Ford: http://espn.go.com/n...e-bucks-move-12

Not Bad... Livingston can help now and Leuer has some potential, Brockman will go though... So we now have #12, #16 and #18? Still need to break into top 10 if we hope ORL will talk.

Keeping Livingston almost assures us of getting rid of Lowry OR letting Dragic walk. Only reason I say it is because there are still a few who think we keep both Lowry/Dragic.

Seems like a really good deal for us. We improve our pick, and Dalembert wasn't going to figure in our long-term plans anyway. From what I saw last year, Leuer played pretty well for the Bucks, not sure why they let him go. Really liking that acquisition, even if it makes our PF situation even more congested. And Livingston is a pretty serviceable backup PG - which I think is actually a good thing. In previous years we've had two PGs competing for the starting spot and getting in each other's way, but having an established starter will hopeful mean we avoid tensions within the squad.

Whether it helps us get those top picks...I'm not sure. Maybe Morey's planning on moving up incrementally? Perhaps his plan is to convince Detroit to trade down - they really want a big man, and all the projections I've seen show Leonard and Zeller being available a bit lower down than #9. And once you've got the #9, maybe you can find the next step on the ladder who's willing to trade with you...kind of ambitious though, and we'd be shedding a lot of assets to make it happen. But that's what they're for :P.

Not the trade I wanted to hear but if the 12th pick is more enticing and helps us in the grand scheme than the 14th pick, I guess a small hooray is in order.

Kings may have wanted slightly better than 14 and 16, maybe the 12 is to get that trade going again?
I like the point you made about recently having 2 starter quality PGs constantly battling/worrying about their job. Livingston is a good defender with great size, works well if Parsons/Lee are starting next year brings some defense to the 2nd unit. As far as Leuer, per 40mins he was one of 5 rookies that averaged 15pts and 10rebs-works for me..

So in what way is #12 better than #14? You get to pick ahead of Milwaukee and Phoenix, which you'd want to do if you suspected you were going after similar players to those teams. Milwaukee wanted a big man, and AFAIK Phoenix are looking for a wing (they keep getting linked to SG types). The sort of players who would be available at that stage...Zeller, Leonard are the primary big men, Ross and Lamb are probably the wing players. Do Sacramento want any of those guys? They've already got a glut of players at the wing, so I can't imagine they're looking there. I guess they could want another big man to pair with Cousins, so Zeller might fit - he's supposed to have a bit of range, which would complement Cousins quite well...
