@  thejohnnygold : (02 September 2014 - 09:48 PM) @bladad--no, you are not the only one to recognize how different Team USA is from our own team. You are just the only one who saw fit to view it negatively.
@  rocketrick : (02 September 2014 - 05:11 PM) Just Wake Me Up in Mid-September when USA-Spain play for the 1-game Title....
@  bladad : (02 September 2014 - 03:41 PM) Am I the only one that doesn't think Harden's stats during Team USA's run has anything to do with how he will play during the season? He is playing with the best players in the world. Most if not all the players can stretch the floor as well. They are also playing piss poor competition at the moment....
@  Willk : (02 September 2014 - 02:20 AM) Jeff Adrien is a bad man http://twitpic.com/dlrurt
@  jorgeaam : (01 September 2014 - 04:07 AM) Probably a Parsons and a Beverley on those second rounders :P
@  feelingsuper... : (31 August 2014 - 09:31 PM) I don't mind Terry, it's a low cost gamble. I do like the 2 second rounders Morey acquired.
@  feelingsuper... : (31 August 2014 - 09:30 PM) Harden looked good once he got past the foul trouble and Coach K put the ball in his hands unlike the first half.
@  Willk : (31 August 2014 - 09:15 PM) harden 7 assists 0 TOs
@  Willk : (31 August 2014 - 09:09 PM) FSS - I do not know how to feel about that
@  feelingsuper... : (31 August 2014 - 09:01 PM) Woj reporting Kings working on deal to send Jason Terry to Rockets.
@  Buckko : (30 August 2014 - 08:17 PM) and finally an article on Canaan http://www.ridiculou...-guard#comments
@  feelingsuper... : (30 August 2014 - 03:26 PM) Just a reminder to everyone interested that Team USA plays Finland today at 2:30 central time on ESPN.
@  RollingWave : (28 August 2014 - 07:34 AM) But yeah, I can understand luxury tax / revenue sharing, but the cap's sole purpose is to help the Owner's pockets and also give jobs to all those captologist
@  RollingWave : (28 August 2014 - 07:33 AM) The irony obviously, sports being the one thing where the US is much more socialist than their European counter part ;)
@  thenit : (27 August 2014 - 08:43 PM) Unless Cle wins 2 rings in 4 years I rather have what Mia has now 2 rings and a likely playoff team
@  thenit : (27 August 2014 - 08:43 PM) That's why I don't like American sports, there shouldn't be any salary cap. It should be like Europe. Hating Socialism except for sports where the whole idea of is to compete to be the best. should be capitalistic and a free for all
@  rocketrick : (27 August 2014 - 11:53 AM) Boring...so which situation is better going forward? Miami Heat with practically no salary cap room after winning 2 titles in 3 years or Cleveland with all kinds of cap room? No wonder LeBron and KLove chose Cleveland. Just saying. NBA Salary Cap is quite onerous in the end.
@  thenit : (27 August 2014 - 02:53 AM) I think it's about right where we should be. We are a contender under the radar
@  rocketrick : (27 August 2014 - 12:42 AM) Las Vegas places 16-1 odds for the Rockets chances this season as the eventual NBA Champion. Only the Cavaliers, Bulls, Spurs, Thunder and Clippers rate better odds than the Rockets. Perhaps too much negativity this off-season in H-town???
@  rocketrick : (26 August 2014 - 11:40 PM) Troy Daniels is more of a SG, too with limited, at best, PG skills. I'm with Rolling Wave, I'd rather have Sessions than Ish Smith backing up Beverley

Adrian Wojnarowski has reported we sent him to Milwaukee as part of a package

Dalembert and the 14th pick go the Bucks for the 12th pick, Jon Brockman, Jon Leurer and Brockman, sources tell Y!

Shaun Livingston also goes to the Rockets as part of the package, sources tell Y!

I gotta be honest, I thought Dally's contract (with its buy-out) would be worth more. There were rumors that Sacramento really wanted it.

Not bad only move up two spots but we can dump Livingston and probably buyout brokman. Leuer is actually a decent player might be worth keeping around.

I think that assumes we'll be dumping most of the roster in the next couple of days. If we can't make a big move we'll have to get out the ol' cutting knife.

Conflicting reports not Ken Berger saying we might be going after Gasol, Ford says we aren't pursuing anymore

Berger: http://www.cbssports...at-howard-gasol
Ford: http://espn.go.com/n...e-bucks-move-12

Not Bad... Livingston can help now and Leuer has some potential, Brockman will go though... So we now have #12, #16 and #18? Still need to break into top 10 if we hope ORL will talk.

Keeping Livingston almost assures us of getting rid of Lowry OR letting Dragic walk. Only reason I say it is because there are still a few who think we keep both Lowry/Dragic.

Seems like a really good deal for us. We improve our pick, and Dalembert wasn't going to figure in our long-term plans anyway. From what I saw last year, Leuer played pretty well for the Bucks, not sure why they let him go. Really liking that acquisition, even if it makes our PF situation even more congested. And Livingston is a pretty serviceable backup PG - which I think is actually a good thing. In previous years we've had two PGs competing for the starting spot and getting in each other's way, but having an established starter will hopeful mean we avoid tensions within the squad.

Whether it helps us get those top picks...I'm not sure. Maybe Morey's planning on moving up incrementally? Perhaps his plan is to convince Detroit to trade down - they really want a big man, and all the projections I've seen show Leonard and Zeller being available a bit lower down than #9. And once you've got the #9, maybe you can find the next step on the ladder who's willing to trade with you...kind of ambitious though, and we'd be shedding a lot of assets to make it happen. But that's what they're for :P.

Not the trade I wanted to hear but if the 12th pick is more enticing and helps us in the grand scheme than the 14th pick, I guess a small hooray is in order.

Kings may have wanted slightly better than 14 and 16, maybe the 12 is to get that trade going again?
I like the point you made about recently having 2 starter quality PGs constantly battling/worrying about their job. Livingston is a good defender with great size, works well if Parsons/Lee are starting next year brings some defense to the 2nd unit. As far as Leuer, per 40mins he was one of 5 rookies that averaged 15pts and 10rebs-works for me..

So in what way is #12 better than #14? You get to pick ahead of Milwaukee and Phoenix, which you'd want to do if you suspected you were going after similar players to those teams. Milwaukee wanted a big man, and AFAIK Phoenix are looking for a wing (they keep getting linked to SG types). The sort of players who would be available at that stage...Zeller, Leonard are the primary big men, Ross and Lamb are probably the wing players. Do Sacramento want any of those guys? They've already got a glut of players at the wing, so I can't imagine they're looking there. I guess they could want another big man to pair with Cousins, so Zeller might fit - he's supposed to have a bit of range, which would complement Cousins quite well...
