In a notable development during this NBA offseason, Myles Turner, the former center for the Indiana Pacers, switched teams to join the division rival Milwaukee Bucks. This transfer, which was finalized on Sunday, marks the end of Turner’s decade-long stint with the Pacers, during which he became one of the NBA’s most loyal players to a single franchise.

Following the move, Turner released an extensive statement on Thursday evening expressing gratitude towards Indiana and acknowledging several local businesses in Indianapolis that he patronized regularly.

“Parting ways is always challenging, particularly when it happens so suddenly,” Turner reflected in his statement. “Every experience, both positive and negative, has helped mold me into the person I am today, and I will forever cherish these memories.”

During his tenure with the Pacers, Turner appeared in 642 games, making him the sixth most-capped player in the history of the franchise. He is also ranked ninth in all-time rebounding for the Pacers and leaves as the franchise’s leading shot-blocker.

“’Thank you, Indy,’ from the deepest part of my heart,” Turner concluded. “I sincerely mean it when I say that the 317 area will always be my home. I have been honored to identify as a Hoosier! I hope you continue to welcome me as warmly as I have always welcomed you!”
