Despite only participating in nine NBA matches last season, Drew Timme managed to leave a solid mark during his brief appearances. Over that span, Timme posted average stats of 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, achieving three double-doubles in the season’s closing weeks.

After concluding his collegiate career at Gonzaga in 2023 without being drafted, Timme joined the Milwaukee Bucks for the Summer League and played with various G League squads over two years before finally landing a spot with the Brooklyn Nets last season.

Impressed by his performance as a two-time WCC Player of the Year, the Nets invited him back for this year’s Summer League. In a recent game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Timme was featured in the starting lineup alongside three rookies from Brooklyn’s first-round picks in the 2025 NBA draft.

In one memorable play during the second quarter, Michigan rookie forward Danny Wolf mistakenly threw a pass intended for Timme while he was positioning himself for a rebound, thinking Wolf would take a shot.

The ball unexpectedly hit Timme in the back of the head.

Despite the team’s overall loss and this particular mishap, Timme showcased his professionalism on the court. He scored 22 points on impressive 10-of-13 shooting, along with grabbing nine rebounds in 30 minutes of play. However, he recognizes the need to better synchronize with his younger teammates.
