If I was to make an educated guess, I would guess that Adam Silver and David Stern and the Rockets organization, some other owners in the league,GMs, want me gone. And why do they want me gone? Because business is about convenience, not about doing what's necessary. It's about cutting overhead... And a lot of times, what's best for us as human beings doesn't meet that criteria for business people.

I'm as ignorant as anyone else on the matter of anxiety disorder and whatever other mental illnesses he may have, but I have to agree with the article that there must be better ways for Royce to handle the whole situation. For starters he can stop playing like trash in the D-League, get recognized and become somebody, and maybe after he becomes somebody in the NBA he might actually have a voice and the power to make a difference. Right now all he's doing is burning bridges isolating himself from everyone, he's taking the fact he made the NBA for granted, and if he keeps all this up he won't be in the NBA for very long. I wish him all the best, and hopefully the next talent with mental illnesses to make the NBA learns from all these mistakes.

It seems like everytime the Rockets try to accommodate him in any way, White then moves the goal posts farther and if the Rockets don't agree with his new terms they are out to get him. While I'm sure he does have some of the problems, the more and more he talks, it seems he is just another spoiled brat of the AAU generation. He has been pampered for so long, that if he doesn't get his way, he throws a hissyfit and starts name calling. While he has the skills to be an very solid NBA player, until he matures and realizes the Rockets want him to succeed (even if it is only for their benefit), he will never put on a Rockets jersey.

^No need.  I should clarify, with regard to my note pinned at the top of the forum, I only meant to put items in existing threads if the existing threads were still active.  No need to resurrect old ones and unnecessarily burden yourselves.  The note was only to keep things clean as a mod had informed me that one of the new members had been creating a new thread every single time he had a random thought, even during games.

we have found common ground. I totally agree with you on royce. at this point royce just needs to shutup and play basketball. I think royce has already burned every bridge to the nba available. every team in the league has been watching this situation right from the beginning. royce's contract is a team option after next season. he will surely find his self out of the league after that and based on the stink he has created this time around it's unlikely we are any other team will add him to their roster. I wish the rockets would just out and out release him pay him and tell him to stay as far away from us as possible. I gave up long time ago on hoping he would pan out. at this point I wouldn't trust him even if he did pan out

Just another disappointment from Royce.  Does anyone know the process the Rockets need to go through to get that make up pick Alexander hinted at?

so freaking sick of this guy.  for awhile i had hoped for his sake, and the rockets, that they could work things out.  now i actually hope he never plays.  just want him gone and the drama over with.

Also, I don't understand how this guy has a doctor telling him he should take time off and go home, but doesn't have an agent or PR guy telling him to get the hell away from social media.  He is once again ranting and raving.

 

I honestly don't care if we get a pick back for him or not, I think getting nothing back will help us move on and forget about this mess altogether.

He said the "team doctor" told him to go home. If that's true, the Rockets can't do anything like cut him and not pay him.

He's so bad at articulating what he's trying to say. It's amazingly frustrating. This may simply be, as noted, that the team doctor thinks what's best for him and the team is for him to just come back and start working out and getting ready for summer. (and that seems very likely) I mean, if he'd stayed with the Vipers all season and never played on the Rockets nobody would have been shocked. So it's not like a huge scoop that he's not going to be with the team. But all he does is say this dramatic sounding stuff and tweet things about how he doesn't care about basketball or whatever and he alienates everyone.

 

I seriously think that if he had like... a PR staff? We'd all like him and this would be fine.
