In the post-Jeremy Lin era, these two are certainly the most polarizing players on our team. I find this to be a good thing.

Was Lin really that polarizing?
I think our current "problem" is a good one to have. Both of these guys have strengths and weaknesses as in the case of Lin, but the lack of fan boys (for lack of a better term) has kept it intelligent and civil. Stat based debate is much more stimulating than flaming and name calling IMHO.

Yes. Yes he was. Granted, the vast majority of the pro-Lin contingent around here were not Rockets fans--just Lin fans. Many of them had only started watching basketball recently and had a very limited perspective.

I consider myself a Rockets fan....
Which is why I said "vast majority" and not all. There is a reason 99% of them left the forum once Lin got traded.

It was bad on both sides, people who started to resent Lin because of his fans.
But I agree its a lot better now

Yes. It hasn't been that long. It was back in March. Things have been quite civil lately. I think there are a handful of reasons for that. However it happened--I'm glad it did.

It was the most polarizing period and player I've seen here at Red94, nothing comes remotely close. I remember not only trying to deal with the infiltration to our forum but also monitoring Clutchfans and Dream Shake. It was a no win situation for moderators everywhere and I'm glad it's so peaceful now and I hope nothing like that ever happens again.
As to Donatus I have to say that injury might be the deciding factor between him and Jones. I'm really curious to see how their competition for the time at the four goes because I really have no idea who will rise above. I'm really really excited for this season.

If Dmo can just maintain the level of play he exhibited the 2nd half of the season then we'll be good at the 4. So how many days till pre-season...?

you know I wasn't going to let the Lin talk slip by without dropping my two cents in all my time being a Rocket fan I have never seen a player more polarizing than Lin. I agree JG........looks like about 99% rocketed out of here on Lin's departure. I also agree most of them were new to the sport and irrational in their views regarding Lin's abilities. if you were critical of him you were seen as LOH or prejudice or unfairly bias. being that I was one of Lin's biggest critics I can attest to first hand knowledge of the wrath of Lin nation considering the gain of not only jettisoning Lin, but also Lin nation it was well worth the first rounder we gave up to make it happen. I know we were chasing Bosh at the time, but I had reached the point I would have traded him for just about anything I didn't really realized the magnitude of my dislike until the thorn was removed. I couldn't help it...... I had to view a couple of Laker sites last year just to see how they were handling Lin nation. if you thought we were a little rough......we were only a fire cracker compared to the H-Bomb Laker nation welcomed them with. I can safely say there is no such thing as a Laker fan who is also a Lin fan or vice versa. if there is better call the conservational society. their sightings are about as rare as a big foot

How much longer do you give him in the league? Seems like he's ridden the Linsanity wave to the shore and is now washing back out to sea.

I'm glad Lin left. He is not a great player. His only good attributes were ones that Harden was better at. There is a reason he wasn't in the league before NY. However I've seen improvement in his overall game since NY even if he hasn't gotten the chance to be the PG of a D'Antoni team and replicate the success he had.
