The Chicago Bulls have concluded a deal sending their veteran guard Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings as part of a three-team transaction. This trade also involves De’Aaron Fox moving to the San Antonio Spurs, which was finalized on Sunday.

After spending over seven years with the Bulls, LaVine expressed deep sentiment for both the team and the city as he departs. On Tuesday, he made a heartfelt post thanking the Bulls organization and its fans.

“Describing how significant this city and organization have been to me for nearly 8 years is challenging,” LaVine stated. “Chicago, your warm welcome and the memories we’ve forged will always be cherished. The fans here are exceptional—playing in Chicago has been a genuine privilege, and I am immensely thankful for your support. My gratitude extends to my teammates, coaches, and everyone on the Bulls staff. You have all significantly contributed to my development, both personally and professionally.

“As I begin this new journey with the Sacramento Kings, I look forward to the future but will always hold onto the love and gratitude for Chicago. Thank you for everything. Let’s continue to strive for greatness.”

During his tenure with the Bulls, LaVine was selected as an All-Star twice and participated in the playoffs/play-in tournament on two occasions. There had been ongoing speculation that the Bulls were considering trading him. Here are the complete details of the three-team trade.

The nearly 30-year-old LaVine is currently in the third year of his five-year, $215 million contract. He holds a player option for the 2026-27 season but has the option to enter free agency in 2026 if he decides.
