After being sidelined for the past two seasons due to a persistent knee issue, Lonzo Ball has made a commendable comeback to the basketball court with the Chicago Bulls this season, having played in 19 games as a substitute since late October.

On a recent Sunday afternoon, the 27-year-old achieved a significant recovery milestone by making his first start for the Bulls in almost three years, seizing the chance with both hands.

In this game, Ball scored a season-high of 15 points, successfully making five out of eight attempted three-point shots, all within 26 minutes on the court. Additionally, he provided three assists and secured one block.

Despite Ball’s impressive performance, the Bulls were defeated by the Sacramento Kings with a score of 124-119, bringing their season record to 18-21.

For a bit of history, it’s noteworthy that Ball had not started a game for Chicago since January 14, 2022—over 1,000 days earlier—in a game they lost against the Golden State Warriors.

Truly an inspiring tale.

The Bulls are set to play again on Tuesday, hosting the New Orleans Pelicans at the United Center in Chicago with the game starting at 8:00 p.m. EST.
