In Trial by the Devil, contestants engage in strategic battles over a week with the goal of winning 500 million won (around $350,000). Upon arrival, each contestant is given a “token” which can be used to gain strategic advantages. Throughout the week, they can earn, give away, or lose these tokens. Those without any tokens are immediately eliminated, and those with the fewest must go to “prison.” At the end of the week, the two contestants with the most tokens advance to the finale.
Season 2 introduces several new features to shake up the game dynamics, including an expanded prison zone, elimination duels, the splitting of contestants into two groups, and more complex puzzles.
