During a pivotal Game 4 on Sunday afternoon, Jalen Brunson, the standout point guard for the New York Knicks, had to leave the court due to an injury to his right ankle. The incident occurred late in the third quarter when Dennis Schröder, a guard for the Detroit Pistons, accidentally fell on Brunson’s ankle. This caused Brunson to slide off the playing surface and subsequently exit the game.

As per the ESPN live coverage, during a timeout, Brunson attempted to stand and put pressure on his right leg but found it difficult and retreated to the locker room for further evaluation. Below is a clip showing the moment Brunson sustained his injury:

Remarkably, Brunson returned to sit on the bench at the beginning of the fourth quarter, as reported by James Edwards III of The Athletic, and re-entered the game just two minutes later.

Brunson had previously missed a month of the regular season due to a sprain in the same right ankle. The recurrence of this injury raises concerns about its potential impact on the ongoing series should it prove to be significant.
