Karma is a Korean series created by Lee Il-hyung (Remember, A Violent Prosecutor) and is adapted from a webtoon (a type of digital comic) first published in 2019. The story revolves around the lives of six characters who are interconnected through a devastating fire, exploring the irreversible consequences of their actions.

Utilizing a narrative approach known as “fragmented storytelling,” the series’ six episodes depict the same event from different perspectives, alternating between the present and flashbacks. The show features internationally recognized actors, such as Park Hae-soo, known from Squid Game Season 1, and Shin Min-a from Hometown Cha Cha Cha, also available on Netflix. The first season of Karma can be streamed on Netflix starting April 4, 2025.

What is the Plot of Karma?

Moon Kyuk-nam is a small-time con artist drowning in debt. Do-hyuk is a talented surgeon with a seemingly perfect life, married to the beautiful and enigmatic Yu-jeong. Joo-yeon is a young nurse haunted by a traumatic past. Lastly, Gil-ryong is an unemployed man desperate to make ends meet. At first glance, these characters have nothing in common, but a horrific fire reveals the unexpected connections between them, unveiling their deep-seated secrets.
