Pistons’ key player Cade Cunningham stepped in, ensuring that the rookie Holland didn’t let his emotions escalate the situation.
During the second quarter, Holland managed to knock the ball from Towns’ grasp, causing both to fall. Towns inadvertently made contact with Holland’s legs, committing a foul in the process and bringing Holland down with him. Holland, clearly upset, stood over Towns in a confrontational manner, but Cunningham quickly intervened by pushing Holland away to avoid him receiving a technical foul.

Cunningham’s quick thinking and assertive action was a crucial play, helping to keep the game under control after the Pistons’ challenging start.
The Pistons ended the first half with a strong 11-2 run, reducing the Knicks’ lead to just seven points as they aimed to balance the series before moving to Madison Square Garden for the next game.
