Totally a dragon.  Now if the choice was a dragon or Jedi powers then I would take the Jedi powers (you could then mind meld any dragon to be your pet/friend/etc...   

 

OK, I was totally leaning toward wanting the play the Spurs but then I realized it was only that if we had to lose to one or the other I really never, ever, ever want to lose out to the Clippers.  I just hate their wining way too much.   Also, I don't get the comment that anyone likes Blake Griffin. I hate all of his and CP3's commercials.  Really, is there no, less annoying players they could get other than those two.

 

Then you got me with Leonard shutting down Harden, and that we stay pat with the Clippers on any hack-a-shaq strategy.  (honestly, if Josh Smith is on the court but not Dwight then we do hack as Josh is a better FT shooter than Jordan).

 

Anyway, I also would really like to ram one down CP3's throat.   People should really troll behind Doc during the games in Houston and every time he throws up his hands, make his face, etc...the rest of the stadium does the same.

 

Anyway, I can't believe that I will ever think/write/say this but....go clippers.

also, I totally agree with the Leadership issue.

Howard and Harden are great individual players, and Howard has shown that he knows what it means to share the ball, get teammates involved and just be plugged into the team. maybe it is personality driven but generally it seems like Harden is a little aloof of the team...or at least doesn't seem to be that great of a leader.

The biggest fault I see in this team is no experienced guy who controls the locker room. We need a Battier or someone who is older, respected, and can pull everyone together. Maybe Harden is just too young yet to do it but it is missing from this team. You can see it when the other teams make runs and then we totally collapse. Part of that is on McHale for not being able to keep the team together but that would also really help if there was less individualism on the team. I think that starts with Harden.

I dont see LMA being traded for Asik....

For Asik with two first rounders maybe but you may  be forgetting that two first rounders of the Rockets on a team that has potentially 3 allstars is pretty bad

 

If Lin steadies the ship, becomes at least an average starter than maybe we get a three team deal done...but I think as LMA or Love get more dissatisfied with their teams the more their trade value falls as teams may read the need for a fire sale.

 

Also, I don't see all of the needed hype on Jones or any of our PFs or Smith.   Lots of people show up for summer league, summer camp, or whatever you want to call it.  Didn't we have the three best players last year in summer league?  I don't think it translates very well to the NBA.

Not that they can't be good, I just think that it is wishful thinking at this point.

 

By the way, I love this site.  By far the best rockets site out there.  Keep up the good work all.  I like how no one attacks anyone else.  I just want to talk shop, not insult other people.

....overall, I think the issue is just timing. Morey is in all likelihood going to trade Asik for one reason or another.
I think the big issue is whether or not our young PFs develop into a starting level PF. If they do then the pressure is really off to trade Asik.
Then we don't have to have the cap space eaten up by Asik and have the benefit of keeping good D throughout the game by rotating Asik in for Howard.
However, if Jones, DMo, etc... can't take the next step then most likely Asik is traded.
...the question then is to who?
If LMA or Love really push to get out of their current homes then maybe, but only Portland really needs a quality center.
What do we trade with Asik for LMA? Lin? maybe, if he shows marked improvement from last year.
Anyway, I think the issue with Asik is that he is a great center and relatively cheap for his skill set. With everyone in the NBA knowing that we may need to trade Asik, they will low ball us in offers. The last thing we need is to sell out on game round defense in exchange for a B or B PF that doesn't really move the needle for the team.

Hero ball: this takes trust on Harden's part to believe that his teammates are as competent as he is in the final minutes. It takes time to get there and at this point the only really clutch player has been Parsons that I see.

CP3 and Howard: I really don't see CP3 being a Rocket. Howard just can't see why he can't be an automatic contender and when he isn't he looks elsewhere....like Houston. I really don't like his attitude and can't be sure that he wouldn't cause the same chemistry problems that he has in Orlando and LA when things don't go his way easily. But I do think he would be a good compliment to Harden, pick and roll to death of everyone.

One CP3. They have the best complimentary team out there and still can't get it done...maybe he should move on...but he and Harden will not work well together. Both need the ball to be really productive...and we are not going to put one on the second team like Harden was at OKC. No one doubts CP3's
