That's funny because I had Harden 4th on my list until he's struggled with a bum ankle/knee and being tired. But I concur with that list except I think Tony Parker has outplayed CP3 all year long.

I think CP3 makes everyone around him so much better though which his stats don't necessarily indicate. He's also much better defensively than Parker. I don't put Parker on the same level as CP3.

Whenever they go head to head, CP3 looks like crap against Tony Parker. Some of that is the team, but Parker is pretty good defensively. I wouldn't say that he's "much better" defensively, more like a little better.

Parker does a pretty good of staying in front of his man, forcing his man into taking long 2's, chasing his man around screens, I don't know why people think he's a bad defender...

Because he doesn't gamble for steals and doesn't have gaudy steal numbers.

It's hard to judge Harden because he looks unstoppable for a couple of months, and then he'll have a month where his shot isn't falling and gets blocked alot and misses lay-ups he usually makes. I think it's just a matter of Harden not being used to playing so many minutes so it takes a toll  on him physically and mentally, but next season he will be more accustomed to playing 38 minutes and being the #1 focus of defenses night in night out. 

 

This season Harden has already exceeded most peoples expectations by being a top 7 player in this league, and I think next season Harden will impress everyone again by elevating to arguably the 3rd best player in the NBA.

I agree. The only other few candidates are Kyrie if he takes a massive step forward( I doubt it), Westbrook if he stops making stupid decisions, Wade if he could stay 100% healthy for a full season(doubt it), and Howard if he's 100%.

Harden is in the top 10 category, everything else is up to discussion. Its basically Lebron then KD, everybody else is mixed in the same level. So everybody will have different players between 3-10 .

But Harden is the best 23 year old or younger player in the NBA. I don't think that is debatable.

I agree. You have Lebron first, a STEEP(though not as much as last year) drop off to Durant 2nd, and then a sizable drop off to numbers 3-10.

I disagree. I think Harden is the best, but it is debatable, Rose during his MVP year was at Harden's level this year. And you also have Westbrook close. That being said, I agree that Harden is the best. Of course this is 25 or under. I'm not sure how old Rose and Westbrook are.

I would put Kyrie Irving in there too. Look at the cavs team and how he is raising that team to not too far from playoffs.

I think Rose is one of the most overrated MVP's ever. I remember people saying the Bulls wouldn't be a playoff team without Rose, and I thought that was absolute nonsense. That Bulls team was one of the best defenses of the decade next to the 08' Celtics and Larry Brown's Pistons. They had Asik off the bench, CJ Watson was a defensive menace, Ronnie Brewer played the best D of his career, it was awesome. But just because Noah and Boozer got injured for a stretch people acted like Rose was the 2nd coming of Jesus, not realizing that Asik and Taj Gibson held the fort down extremely well with their superior defense. Rose had a great season, but people blew it out of proportion.

 

Harden this season > Rose's MVP season imo

I'll reserve judgment on Rose until I see him back, playing a few months after his injury. Under 25, I think Harden has got to be the best. Kyrie is being quite amazing though. Haha silly LAC and their silly trades.
