Turiaf is very stat friendly, high energy guy, however if he doesn't get traded to Cleveland with love, because the cavs could use center depth, then the wolves will most likely want to keep him, because they plan on competing while rebuilding instead of full on tank.

another BOLD prediction...................I been pondering this Papanikolaou signing at the remaining mid level exemption (4.8 mil). when we first tried to sign this guy we only offered 4 mil for two years and he turn this contract down. now we're paying more than twice that for one year with a team option of 4.6 mil the year after................why? the answer.........trade bait. Papanikolaou is a draft pick so we can trade him after 30 days and don't have to wait till December 15 like on FA signings. his salary plus the other nonguaranteed contracts we have can all be moved by September 15. excluding Beverly and Covington we have 5.7 mil in nonguaranteed contracts plus Papanikolaou's salary equal 10.5 mil. that's enough to trade to Phoenix if we choose to offer Beldsoe a Max contract after negotiating a trade with Phoenix. to obtain Bledsoe we can't use the trade exception acquired in the Lin trade because it can't be combined with other players for salary matching purposes unless we involve a third team. the longer Bledsoe's situation goes unsettled I'd say our chances of acquiring him increase IMO. MY PREDICTION........BLEDSOE WILL BE A HOUSTON ROCKET BEFORE THE START OF THE SEASON.
Do you think Phoenix will value Papanikolau and the cap space enough to do something like this?

@Lostheif
I agree with Buckko........I like Turiaf, but getting him away from Minny is the Problem

Not sure it's that bold: the Lin trade exception (or part of it) will be used towards the trade deadline to get a good player from a team in need to dump salary. Any player with salary under $9.21M is eligible...

@redfaithful
YES I do think Phoenix is interested in a deal like this. they are more interested in the Pelicans pick if no top center or PF can be put on the table than any thing else. however since that's not available I would say should Phoenix decide to trade Bledsoe that makes us the front runners

http://www.cbafaq.co...larycap.htm#Q85 : "In a non-simultaneous trade, a team can acquire only up to 100% plus $100,000 of the outgoing salary..."
Lin's salary for this year is $8.374M.

bold prediction:
our defensive efficency will climb into the top 10.
and after leading team USA in scoring at the world cup, harden comes in the top 3 for scoring in the nba.
p.s. @myself about turiaf...didn't realize minny wasn't in firesale mode...i mean i don't see why they wouldn't be..but then again...it's minny.

Yeah since flip hired himself as coach he likely doesn't want to be the worst team in the west even though it might be unavoidable.

@Losthief
I agree we will reach top ten defense this year and it possible for harden to reach top three in scoring. C'mon give me something a little more risky than that ![]()

Thread resurrection! If you posted predictions in here at the start of the year, come back to gloat/look back in embarrassment at what you said way back in the day.

Don't think I posted, but what I was wrong and right about:
Wrong:
- Terry would not be very good and wouldn't play that much
- McHale would not get extended
- We'd be around the 7th seed
- Our bench would be super thin (lol)
- Josh Smith would NOT be a good signing (more of a mid-season prediction)
Right:
- DMo would have a breakout year
- Dwight would have a significant injury and time missed
- The Ariza-Parsons swap would be an on-court net-positive (not to mention the salary situation being better)

Didn't post as well, but I want to see the good ones and the bad ones as well:
-Terry wouldn't see the floor as a Rocket (lol)
-Troy Daniels as an important piece of our rotation
-The front office would hire someone to replace sampson
-The team would be better than what most pundits were predicting.
-Defense would be improved compared to last year's (too obvious, it couldn't be worse than that)
-KPap would see the floor early in the season despite being a rookie (when I saw his contract i suspected that we wouldn't pay almost 5M for a guy to be on the bench)

Glad I didn't go to Vegas.Bench (3+ reserves on court) scores more points per 100 possessions then the starters.
Terrence Jones averages 15/10/2.
Canaan is named to the Rookie/Sophmore game.
D-Mo goes for 12/8.
Daniels leads the NBA in 3-point %.
Morey makes no trade at the deadline.
