In September 1978, Cheryl Bradshaw indeed participated in The Dating Game, alongside Rodney Alcala—a rapist and serial killer—unbeknownst to the show’s producers.

The story then evolves into a psychological thriller as the psychopath, who had previously served time for violently assaulting two young girls, was simultaneously active across California and had already brutally murdered four women. Cheryl Bradshaw narrowly avoids a similar fate by choosing not to pursue a relationship after the show. Rodney Alcala was sentenced to death in 2010 in California for five murders, with accusations for two additional killings, but it is suspected that his actual victim count could be much higher. He passed away from natural causes on July 24, 2021, in prison.
