However, Kerr was visibly frustrated when Hield failed to pass the ball to Curry, a mistake he addressed during a timeout. Kerr light-heartedly “reintroduced” Curry to Hield to emphasize the importance of passing to one of the best shooters in the NBA.
“Buddy, meet Steph. Steph Curry,” Kerr said as he gestured towards Curry who was sitting down. “And Steph, this is Buddy Hield. I think it’s time you two got acquainted. … Buddy, say hi to Steph, the finest shooter the world has ever seen, who was completely open,” Kerr joked.
Kerr’s playful scolding ended with laughter and a warm embrace for Hield, making it clear that his remarks were all in jest. “I love you, Buddy,” Kerr added, highlighting the good spirits in which the comments were made.
