Andre Drummond Calls Out ESPN’s SportsCenter on Social Media

Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond recently voiced his displeasure with ESPN’s SportsCenter on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, over a graphic about Angel Reese that failed to acknowledge his own rebounding achievements.

In a message that was later removed, SportsCenter inaccurately claimed that Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese and Basketball Hall of Famer Ben Wallace were the only players in the past 50 years to have three consecutive games with at least 20 rebounds each.

However, Drummond, who had achieved this milestone himself during the 2019-20 NBA season, was quick to correct the oversight publicly.

The four-time NBA rebounding leader did not hesitate to address the error on X by pointing out the omission of his accomplishment.

Drummond’s correction garnered support from several fans who rallied to his defense, sharing statistical data and images to substantiate his claim.

Drummond had a remarkable start to the 2019-20 season, securing 20 or more rebounds in four consecutive games between October 30 and November 4. Following his lead, Clint Capela of the Houston Rockets also managed to achieve more than 20 rebounds in five successive games later that same month. They were the first to accomplish this since Ben Wallace in 2003. Concurrently, Reese has proven herself a formidable rebounder in the WNBA, being the first to achieve three consecutive games with 20 or more rebounds in the league’s history.
