Clippers Secure Center Ivica Zubac with Long-Term Contract

The Clippers have solidified their roster, particularly the center position, by ensuring Ivica Zubac remains with the team for an extended period.

According to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Clippers have finalized a three-year contract extension with center Ivica Zubac, valued at $58.6 million. This agreement was confirmed on Friday.

This contract represents the maximum three-year deal Zubac was eligible to sign this offseason, in accordance with the stipulations set by the current collective bargaining agreement. This extension ensures that Zubac will stay with the Clippers through the 2027-28 NBA season.

Zubac, originally selected in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, has completed his fifth season with the Clippers, a team he joined in 2019. The 2023-24 season marked a career-best for him, as he averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, while his field goal percentage soared to 64.9%.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Zubac is set to continue his role in the Clippers’ starting lineup, which also features stars Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. This season is particularly notable as the Clippers will inaugurate their new Intuit Dome arena.
