As the regular NBA season winds down with only three games remaining, the Sacramento Kings hold a record of 39-40 and have secured their participation in the play-in tournament. However, a recent injury could potentially hinder their playoff goals.

During their recent victory against the Detroit Pistons, Kings’ key reserve Malik Monk had to leave the game prematurely due to an injury and did not come back. Monk has been declared unavailable for the upcoming game against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, suffering from soreness in his left calf. In response, the Kings have taken steps to strengthen their guard lineup in his absence.

This Tuesday, the Kings welcomed back 27-year-old guard Terence Davis, signing him to their roster. Davis, who previously played for Sacramento from 2021 to 2023, has rejoined the team.

Davis played a pivotal role during Sacramento’s playoff return after a 16-year absence in the 2022-23 season and has been a critical part of the team throughout his three seasons, featuring in 121 games and starting 16 times. Davis has a career average of 8.6 points per game with a shooting split of 42.8/35.8/79.8.

Following the announcement of his signing, Davis expressed his gratitude on social media.

Sacramento fans have been eager to see Davis return, as he has spent the entire season with the Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. Numerous fans have posted their excitement on Davis’ social media.

“It’s been long overdue!!!” one fan exclaimed.

“Can’t wait to see Playoff TD bring the energy! ” another fan remarked.

“Shouldn’t have let you go in the first place ” a fan commented.

“LETS GOOO WELCOME BACK, MUCH LOVE GOAT ” another supporter voiced.

This season in the G League, Davis has posted averages of 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game with impressive shooting splits of 46.6/40.2/75.0. While he is likely being signed to add depth, his role could expand significantly if Monk’s absence is prolonged.
