The production team behind Bridgerton is venturing into a new genre with a comedic “whodunit” mystery series on Netflix. Here are the details about the show.

An official dinner at the White House has gone terribly wrong! Based on the novel of the same name by Kate Andersen Brower, Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Bridgerton) brings us a new show available since March 20, 2025, on Netflix: The Residence. This crime comedy, set in the iconic U.S. President’s home, kicks off with a murder mystery.

Enter Cordelia Cupp, the nation’s top detective, who arrives to swiftly investigate and uncover the perpetrator. The show shares a vibe with Knives Out, another tightly knit thriller known for its polished cinematography and featuring Daniel Craig as the detective.

To track down clues and the culprit, Shonda Rhimes has assembled a stellar cast including Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black, Mrs. America, Tallulah), surrounded by Randall Park (Always be my maybe), Edwina Findley (Fear the Walking Dead), Molly Griggs (Servant), and Giancarlo Esposito (The Boys, The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad).
