A vibrant tribute to the lively atmosphere of Spain in the 2000s, A Superstar is a flamboyant and kitschy satire that blends comedy, drama, and fantasy. It is set to premiere on July 18, 2025, on Netflix. Created, co-written, and co-directed by Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes), with contributions from Claudia Costafreda, this Spanish series produced by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi features a cast of quirky and eccentric characters.
To bring these characters to life, the producers cast Swedish actress Ingrid Garcia-Jonsson (Beautiful Youth, Explota Explota, Sweet Home) in the lead role of Tamara. She is joined by Spanish actress Natalia de Molina, a two-time Goya Award winner, Spain’s equivalent of the French César, for Living is Easy with Eyes Closed (2013) and Food and Shelter (2016).
