This week on Netflix, we recommend checking out this British drama series composed of just four episodes. We also have updates on other new releases this week.

Tired of endlessly scrolling through Netflix for something to watch? We’ve got you covered with a roundup of can’t-miss new releases on the streaming platform. We especially recommend a gripping British series that spans four episodes. It’s an intense, heart-wrenching show that’s a major hit early this year and is the top series to watch on the platform this week.

Created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, Adolescence delves into how a family and an ordinary town spiral into horror when a 13-year-old is accused of murdering a classmate. Each episode is filmed in a single continuous shot and in real time, enhancing the immersion, tension, and intensity. The series also examines the growing disconnect between parents and their children, teenage turmoil, toxic masculinity, and incels.

Another highly acclaimed series is 1883, a prequel to Yellowstone (also available on Netflix), by Taylor Sheridan. It follows a family’s perilous journey as they head west, encountering violence along the way. This series has been both critically acclaimed and popular with audiences.

If you’re in the mood for something lighter, give The Electric State, an action movie by the Russo brothers (Avengers: Endgame) starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, a shot. This alternate reality where humans battle robots is visually engaging, though slightly lacking in depth. Nonetheless, it remains a family-friendly entertainment option for an evening or weekend afternoon. Also making a return to Netflix is the classic romance, Pride and Prejudice, unless you’d prefer to (re)watch Fatal or the musical saga.

It’s worth noting that several of the past weeks’ releases are still topping the charts as the most-watched current programs, such as the French action movie Bastion 36, the comedy series La meneuse starring Kate Hudson (renewed for a second season), the British series based on a true story Toxic Town, the western Yellowstone, and the political thriller Zero Day starring Robert De Niro. Viewers can also discover the historical series Le Guépard and the comedy Resident Alien. Below, you’ll find all the upcoming Netflix new releases.
