Following her role in Mary and George in 2024, Julianne Moore stars in another series, this time a “murder mystery” atmosphere, based on a 2011 stage play. Set to premiere on May 22, 2025, on Netflix, Sirens unfolds in a secluded New England upper-class estate, where the peace is shattered by the arrival of a young woman from a modest background. She comes to persuade her sister, who is employed there as an assistant, to return home to care for their aging father.
The clash of different social backgrounds and the complex relationships between the characters are the essence of this five-episode series created by Molly Smith Metzler, known for Maid and several episodes of Shameless and Orange is the New Black. Kevin Bacon (Apollo 13, Mystic River) stars alongside Julianne Moore as her husband. The sisters are portrayed by Meghann Fahy (The Perfect Couple, The White Lotus) and Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon).
