1. Amid concerns over the NBA’s declining viewership and the general vitality of the league, a straightforward solution for the league and its broadcasters is to avoid featuring underperforming teams in national broadcasts.

The Sixers currently stand at a disappointing 20–37 record, having suffered eight consecutive losses. It appears that Joel Embiid might be out for the remainder of the season.

Over the past weekend, Stephen A. Smith was highly critical of Philadelphia, emphatically stating, “America, you don’t care about the Sixers. Neither do we.”

Guess which team, surprisingly, has two nationally televised games this week?

Indeed, it’s Philadelphia.

The Sixers will play the Knicks on Wednesday on ESPN and then host the Warriors on Saturday on ABC.

Why? What’s the reason? Who actually wants to watch the Sixers twice in one week?

There’s frequent discussion about adjusting the NFL schedule, but it’s clear that the NBA could benefit from this flexibility just as much.

2. Fox is showcasing its top Major League Baseball matchups for the 2025 season. A standout game that Fox will broadcast is on Sat., Aug. 2, featuring the Braves and Reds at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.

3. The third season of Netflix’s acclaimed golf docuseries, Full Swing, launches today. The opening episode delves into Scottie Scheffler’s arrest, featuring a notable interaction between the golfer and a police officer.

Officer: “I assume you’re quite skilled if you’re a PGA player.”

Scheffler: “I’m decent, yes.”

4. This was a highlight. Patrick Mahomes was seen cheering from the front row as his alma mater, Texas Tech, competed against Houston on Monday night. During a break, a fan was invited to make a long putt across the court, and Mahomes was visibly thrilled!

5. If you’re a fan of New York sports, you surely recognize broadcaster Al Trautwig. He has been a prominent voice for the Knicks, Rangers, and Yankees for many years, captivating audiences with his pregame, halftime, and postgame commentaries. Trautwig was particularly influential during many of the Knicks’ key games in the 1990s, delivering memorable and impactful broadcasts.
