The series kicks off with a dramatic incident. As several inmates are being transferred to La Quebrada prison, their vehicle crashes into a river. Five survivors emerge, covered in mud. Upon reaching the high-security prison, they encounter power abuses and hostility among the various “tribes” that dominate the daily lives of the prisoners. La Quebrada even becomes the setting for a bizarre underground operation: a “virtual brothel.” Using cunning and adaptability, these survivors inadvertently form a group known as “Las embarradas” (“the muddied ones”).
