For the first time since his professional debut, Michael Porter Jr. is set to play for a team other than the Denver Nuggets. Selected as the 14th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft by Denver, Porter spent the initial seven years of his career with the Nuggets, playing a crucial role in securing the franchise’s very first NBA title three seasons ago.

Recently, Porter Jr. was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, a strategic move by the Nuggets aimed at restructuring their roster and financial commitments to stay competitive during the peak years of Nikola Jokic’s career.

Upon his first visit to the Nets’ training facility this week, Porter Jr. was greeted by the press as he stepped out of an elevator. He expressed his approval of the multi-court setup at the facility, highlighting the difference from Denver’s single-court practice area.

In Denver, the Nuggets’ practice takes place on a single court within the Ball Arena, an environment quite different from the scenic Manhattan views Porter Jr. seemed to appreciate at the Nets facility.

While the facilities at Brooklyn appear impressive, it remains to be seen how Porter Jr. will adapt to the basketball environment with the Nets, a team that has faced back-to-back losing seasons and has recently integrated four new rookies and an additional traded player into their lineup.
