The Dallas Mavericks, already grappling with numerous injuries, have suffered yet another setback.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon, Mavericks’ forward Maxi Kleber has fractured his right foot and is expected to be out for an extended duration. This news was reported on Saturday evening following a match.

Kleber, who is 32 years old, had to leave the game during the Mavericks’ 122–107 defeat to the Boston Celtics on Saturday due to what was initially thought to be an ankle injury. This season, the forward has been playing an average of 19 minutes per game, scoring 3.1 points and securing 2.8 rebounds.

Although these statistics might not seem significant at first glance, Kleber was one of the last remaining healthy players in the Mavericks’ frontcourt lineup. Another player, center Dereck Lively II, is also sidelined, expected to miss two to three months due to a foot fracture, as reported by Charania earlier in the week.

The Mavericks have also been coping with the absence of their star guard Luka Doncic, who has been out with a calf strain since Christmas.

Currently, Dallas holds a record of 24-22, placing them ninth in the Western Conference and trailing the Los Angeles Clippers by two games for the last guaranteed playoff spot.
