Shortly after his exit, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported via Twitter that Exum had sustained a broken bone in his hand and would be sidelined for an indefinite period.

Following the trade of star player Luka Doncic and injuries to other key players, Exum had become a regular starter this season, starting 11 out of his 17 game appearances. He had missed the first 48 games due to wrist surgery earlier in the season.
