Despite his hopes to play in all 82 games of the season, James will have to sit out this Sunday, disrupting his goal. Until now, he has played in 23 games, where he has maintained an average of 23.0 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.0 rebounds each game.
“Yeah. I plan on playing every game,” James expressed back in October. “We’ll see what happens. You never know. We’ll see what happens if I don’t.”
Currently, the Lakers have a record of 12–11 and have faced challenges recently, losing seven out of their last nine games. They hope to improve their standing against the 8–15 Portland team. The game is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. ET.
After the game on Sunday, the Lakers will have a break until they meet the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, December 13, providing James with ample time to recover from his foot issue.
