Kon Knueppel’s Heartwarming Reaction to Cooper Flagg’s Draft Night Support Goes Viral!

The camaraderie shared by former Blue Devils colleagues and NBA first-round draft selections Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel is quite extraordinary.

Those who closely follow basketball might remember Flagg’s thrilled response upon hearing Knueppel’s name announced as the No. 4 pick last June. At that moment, Flagg was in the middle of an interview with reporter Taylor Rooks, but he abruptly stopped to celebrate his friend and former teammate’s success as he approached the stage to meet commissioner Adam Silver.

When asked about that particular moment during a recent podcast with Rooks, Knueppel expressed a touching response to Flagg’s jubilant support.

“It’s really special,” Knueppel shared with Rooks. “It’s more than just him being a former teammate. He genuinely cares about me and my success. We both feel the same way about each other. But seeing someone so genuinely excited for another person’s success isn’t something you witness often, and it was really cool. I must admit, I got a bit emotional when I first saw the video of Flagg reacting.”
