When asked over the NBA All-Star Weekend what counsel he might offer to his younger, 12-year-old self, Durant responded with both humor and sincerity.
“Honestly… I think I was already pretty focused at that age,” Durant explained to a room of journalists, prompting laughter. “I’m not even kidding,” he continued, cracking a slight grin.

If possessing such a mindset from a young age is what led to earning two NBA championships, Durant wouldn’t change a thing about his younger self.
The All-Star weekend festivities will proceed with the HBCU Classic at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, and will be followed by the Skills Contest, Dunk Contest, and 3-Point Contest starting at 8 p.m.
