Interest in Jimmy Butler appears to be lower than initially anticipated.

The ongoing disputes between Butler and the Miami Heat have escalated, with the 35-year-old player expressing a desire to leave the team, which has responded by suspending him several times due to issues with his behavior. As the NBA trade deadline draws near, it seems no teams have shown a desire to acquire the services of the six-time All-Star.

NBA insider Chris Haynes reports that no teams have reached out to the Heat to inquire about discussing Butler’s future with him. Moreover, Butler’s representatives have tried to make amends with the Heat in hopes of resolving their issues.

On Tuesday, Haynes shared on Twitter:

According to sources, Jimmy Butler’s team has consistently informed the Heat that he is fit, healthy, and eager to move forward with his career immediately. They have urged the Heat to negotiate the best deal possible. Once negotiations reach a critical phase, if a team is allowed by MIA to discuss Butler’s long-term future with his representative, such discussions would be welcome. As of now, no team has sought permission.

With the trade deadline approaching this Thursday, time is running short for a resolution.

Butler is nearing the end of his contract, though he holds a $52.4 million player option for the upcoming season. He has also made it clear that he expects a contract extension from any team that might acquire him and has specifically told the Golden State Warriors he would not sign with them if they were to trade for him.

The Heat has indefinitely suspended Butler, who remains out of play.

In the 25 games he has played this season, Butler has averaged 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals over 30.6 minutes per game.
