Jaylen Brown, a key player for the Boston Celtics, continued to compete in the NBA playoffs despite suffering from a partial meniscus tear in his right knee.

Despite not being at his peak performance towards the end of the season, Brown endured the pain as the Celtics aimed to secure another championship. The full extent of his injury was only disclosed following Boston’s defeat to the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

With details of his condition now public, Brown has openly discussed his future steps, which might include undergoing surgery.

“There are numerous doctors I need to consult,” Brown shared with Noa Dalzell of Celtics Blog. “We need to evaluate the necessity for surgery. I’m speaking with the team about it. Currently, I’m focusing on resting and recovering after a demanding season, which was quite taxing mentally.”

As Jayson Tatum deals with a recovery from a torn Achilles tendon incurred during the Knicks series, Brown’s role in the upcoming season is expected to increase significantly. Tatum is likely to miss a major part of the season, if not the entire season, due to this injury.
