Following their exit from the NBA playoffs at the hands of the New York Knicks on Friday night, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics emphasized to supporters that better days lie ahead. He conveyed this message during his postgame press conference.

Despite this, Brown didn’t shy away from expressing the team’s feelings after their severe 119-81 defeat in Game 6 on Friday. He succinctly described the team’s current state with a single word: death.

“Losing to the Knicks feels like death, but I’ve always believed in life after death, so we’re gearing up for what comes next,” Brown stated. “I’m prepared for the next steps on our journey.”

Interestingly, Brown maintained a positive outlook throughout his press conference, often redirecting his responses to focus on the Celtics’ future. He acknowledged there were plenty of reasons to be disheartened, especially with the season’s abrupt end and Jayson Tatum sidelined for at least nine months due to an Achilles injury. Nevertheless, he believes the team has the resilience to rebound next season.

“I understand it looks bleak in Boston right now, especially with JT out and our season concluding on this note, but there’s much to anticipate,” Brown remarked. “I want our community to be excited about what’s to come. This isn’t the finale.”

Based on Brown’s statements, it’s clear that the Celtics are a team to keep an eye on in the upcoming season.
