PHOENIX — In a bid to revamp their operations comprehensively, the Phoenix Suns are poised to make significant moves this summer, with a major development potentially on the horizon.

Reports suggest that the Suns are contemplating bolstering their front office team, with Bob Myers, formerly with the Golden State Warriors, emerging as a strong candidate. Gerald Bourguet of PHNX has reported that Myers is indeed interested in the position.

“From what I’ve heard, Bob Myers is keen on moving to Phoenix. He’s not the only prominent figure who’s shown interest in joining the Suns’ front office recently. Before Jon Horst renewed his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, he was also considered,” Bourguet noted.

Myers is renowned for his pivotal role in establishing the Warriors’ recent successful era, securing four championships and garnering two Executive of the Year titles during his tenure.

However, not everyone supports the idea of Myers joining the Suns, according to some opinions.

Kevin Hicks from our team expressed skepticism about Myers joining the Suns in a recent article:

“Myers has had his share of questionable draft choices, including picking James Wiseman as the second overall in 2020, and selecting Damian Jones and Jacob Evans towards the end of the first round in different drafts,” he argued.

“Additionally, Myers’ decision in 2021 to attempt to merge two distinct generational talents might not have been the best route. Despite winning a championship in 2022, the integration of young players like Jonathan Kuminga, Jordan Poole, and Moses Moody with veterans such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green might have compromised the team’s long-term prospects,” he added.

Despite these criticisms, Myers’ impressive track record could be just what the Suns need as they aim to shift from rebuilding to contending.
