Professional Sports Authenticator, also known as PSA, a leading company in the collectibles grading industry, has disclosed statistics on the types of cards collectors submitted for evaluation in 2024.

Caitlin Clark, following a remarkable year in 2024, continued to set records by becoming the first female basketball player to enter the top 10 for most cards graded in PSA’s history.

Clark, who is positioned sixth among basketball players, was just shy of making it into the overall top 10. She leads the group of highly collected female athletes, followed by Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, JuJu Watkins, and Cameron Brink. The rate at which women’s basketball cards were submitted for grading in 2024 was tenfold the rate in 2023. Clark also surpassed some of the major newcomers in MLB collectibles, including Paul Skenes.

Other non-basketball female athletes making the top 10 in their sports include Alex Morgan (soccer), Katie Ledecky (swimming), and Serena Williams (tennis).

According to PSA, the top 10 athletes with the highest volume of cards graded in 2024 are:

Other notable basketball players include Brandon Miller, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, and Shaquille O’Neal. Basketball saw the most significant increase in grading submissions, up 77% from the previous year. Hockey and football followed as the next largest growth areas.

Wembanyama stood out among international athletes, with a massive jump to 407,000 cards graded, up from just under 28,000 in 2023. His prominence in the collector’s market was further highlighted by his appearance on the debut of the high-end Topps product, Mercury.
