On Sunday, the Milwaukee Bucks finalized a new contract agreement with forward Bobby Portis, who was approaching the last year of his existing contract, set to end in the 2025-26 season.

The freshly inked deal secures Portis with the Bucks for an additional three years and is valued at $44 million. This contract also includes an option for Portis to remain with the team for the 2027-28 season, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Previously, Portis had the option to continue with Milwaukee for another season at $13.44 million under his old contract. However, he chose to commit to a long-term extension, which averages nearly $15 million annually.

Despite being limited to 49 games last season due to injuries, Portis performed well when available. He averaged 13.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, and successfully made 1.3 three-point shots per game at a 36.5% success rate. Having been with the Bucks for the past five seasons, the 10-year NBA veteran will now remain with the team for the foreseeable future thanks to his new contract.

As a crucial leader of Milwaukee’s second unit, Portis continues to be an essential component of the team’s strategy and will maintain this role for several more seasons.
