He shared that he was at home, getting ready to enjoy a movie with his wife when he received the call about the trade—a scenario likely mirrored by many fans who were equally taken aback by the news.
“I was surprised. I had no clue it was coming,” Davis revealed. “I was just at home, about to start a movie night with my wife when I got the call. I had just texted the team [the Lakers] to congratulate them on their recent victory against the Knicks and was looking ahead to our next game against the Clippers, which was important for our standings. Then, just an hour later, I found out I was no longer part of the team. It was definitely a shock, but now I’ve moved past it and am focusing on my future with Dallas.”
