A server working at the Capital One Arena experienced what could only be described as a server’s worst nightmare.

During the basketball game on Thursday night between the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics, the game experienced an unexpected pause. This interruption was caused by an arena employee accidentally dropping a whole tray of beverages while serving the front rows. It’s important to note that the incident was not his fault.

The accident happened as referee Jenna Reneau was moving back up the court. She was focused on the game behind her and did not notice the server approaching from the opposite direction. Neither did he see her coming. The inevitable happened; they collided, Reneau at full speed, causing the tray full of drinks to go airborne.

Below is the video of the incident.

The game had to be halted because the spilled drinks were all alcoholic beverages.

It was truly an unfortunate event and a great loss of beverages.

The brief delay did not seem to impact the Celtics’ performance adversely. By the middle of the third quarter, Boston was leading 73–58 in a fast-paced contest.
