This Thursday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum in their third preseason game. However, one of their key players is not keen on making the journey.

LeBron James, who is about to embark on his 22nd NBA season at 39 years old, took to social media on Wednesday to question the rationale behind the Lakers’ trip to Milwaukee for a single preseason match.

It’s a legitimate query from the seasoned player. The Lakers kicked off their preseason schedule last Friday with a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and faced the Phoenix Suns at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday.

Their upcoming game against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks this Thursday represents their only contest of the week prior to hosting the Golden State Warriors next Tuesday. The team is set to depart for Milwaukee on Wednesday, play on Thursday, and then return to Los Angeles for several practice sessions.

James played his first preseason game this season last Sunday, during which the Lakers were narrowly defeated by the Suns 118-114. James contributed significantly by scoring 19 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field, in just 16 minutes of play.

Another intriguing narrative this preseason is Bronny James, LeBron’s son, who was picked by the Lakers in the second round of the draft in June. The younger James has had a challenging start, scoring only two points on 1-of-6 shooting in 16 minutes against the Timberwolves and failing to score while turning the ball over four times in the game against Phoenix.

The Lakers are set to begin the 2024-25 NBA regular season on October 25, facing off against the Timberwolves.
