The Chicago Bulls recently played their first preseason game broadcasted on the newly launched Chicago Sports Network, following the closure of the regional sports network NBC Sports Chicago last month.

During the broadcast, Bulls enthusiasts were met with a surprise: the score display, previously located at the bottom right of the screen, was now positioned vertically at the top left corner.

While there are numerous styles and placements of scorebugs across various sports broadcasts globally, this particular design and positioning were quite unusual.

The placement of the new scorebug on the Chicago Sports Network interfered with the visibility of players positioned at the perimeter during left-to-right offensive maneuvers, and also obscured views during fast breaks by the opposing team.

NBA fans expressed their displeasure:

The Chicago Sports Network will continue to air games for the Bulls, as well as the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago White Sox. NBC Sports Chicago, established in 2004 as Comcast SportsNet Chicago, concluded its operations on September 30.

In the game, the Bulls triumphed over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a score of 116–112, led by point guard Coby White who scored 21 points.
