The NBA offseason has kicked off with significant activity. Numerous trades and contract extensions have been made, and the recent draft has introduced a fresh wave of talent into the league, prompting teams to restructure in anticipation of the 2025-26 season.

According to a report by ESPN’s Shams Charania on Sunday, the Utah Jazz have traded guard Collin Sexton along with a 2031 second-round draft pick to the Charlotte Hornets for center Jusuf Nurkic.

Sexton will now join forces with LaMelo Ball and the newly drafted Kon Kneuppel in the Hornets’ roster. On the other side, Nurkic will collaborate with Ace Bailey, a somewhat unexpected fifth pick from Rutgers by the Jazz during the recent draft.

Last season, Sexton was the leading scorer for the Jazz and maintained the second-highest usage rate among the team. His departure will create more opportunities for Bailey and rookie guard Walter Clayton Jr., who joined from Florida.

Meanwhile, the Hornets appear to have more transactions to execute before the season begins, as their frontcourt has been left depleted following the trade of Nurkic and the departure of Mark Williams during the draft.
