Zach Edey, the center for the Memphis Grizzlies, is currently embroiled in a legal issue due to a reckless driving incident that occurred on May 1 in Indiana.

At 23 years old, Edey, who has just finished his first NBA season, was caught driving at a speed of 101 miles per hour in a zone restricted to 55 miles per hour by an Indiana state trooper.

The state trooper managed to stop Edey while he was traveling east on Tippecanoe County Road 700 South.

Edey faces a misdemeanor charge and is scheduled for a court hearing on June 23.

This season, Edey was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie team after playing in 66 games, starting in 55, and averaging 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, shooting 58.0% from the field.

Recently, Edey had surgery on his ankle, an event that is expected to delay his return for the upcoming season.
