A noteworthy shift in the French broadcasting landscape is on the horizon. Soon, Netflix subscribers will have access to programs from TF1 directly through their interface. On Wednesday, June 18, the television group announced that five of its channels (TF1, TMC, TFX, LCI, and TF1 Series Films) along with TF1+ content will be available on the American streaming platform.
TF1’s series, shows, movies, and other productions will be accessible on Netflix both on-demand and live! This partnership strengthens a decade-long relationship, which has intensified in recent months with the launch of joint productions such as Tout le bleu du ciel and Tout pour la lumière.
What Content Will Be Available?
Netflix subscribers will find all the current programs available on the streaming platform, including popular series like Stranger Things, Squid Game, The Bridgerton Chronicles and other Netflix originals. Additionally, they will now also enjoy TF1’s offerings.
Subscribers will have access to TF1, TMC, TFX, LCI, and TF1 Series Films live, along with their series (e.g., Plus belle la vie, Demain nous appartient, HPI) and entertainment shows (e.g., Koh Lanta, Dancing with the Stars) on-demand. Specialized shows and news programs (like the news broadcasts, Quotidien, Sept à huit), and live sports events will also be available. Movies and series from TF1+ will be included too. However, aggregated content (related to agreements with Arte, La Chaîne L’Equipe, or Le Figaro TV) is not part of this deal.
Will Netflix Subscription Rates Change?
As of now, there has been no announcement regarding changes to Netflix subscription rates: it’s unclear whether a TF1 option will be added or if rates will increase accordingly. Nevertheless, TF1 content is expected to include commercial breaks, according to Le Parisien, even for those who have not opted for an ad-included subscription.
What Will the Integration Look Like?
Netflix subscribers will continue to use their usual interface. Added to this will be a dedicated space for TF1 programs on the homepage, as well as in a specific tab and in a horizontal Netflix section. In the personalized recommendations, you can expect a mix of Netflix originals and TF1’s popular shows.
When Will TF1 Be Available on Netflix?
Viewers will need to wait a while to see TF1 on Netflix. The French media group has announced its introduction to the red N streaming platform by the summer of 2026. No specific date has been provided yet.
