Stephen Curry to Extend Stay with Golden State Warriors

Following a memorable summer, Stephen Curry, the renowned guard for the Golden State Warriors, is poised to extend his tenure in the Bay Area by an additional year beyond what was initially expected.

According to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Curry has secured a one-year extension worth $62.6 million with the Warriors, ensuring that he will remain with the team until the end of the 2027 season.

The basketball icon’s prior contract, which he signed in August 2021, had him committed to the Warriors until the conclusion of the 2026 season.

During the 2023-24 season, the 36-year-old Curry maintained impressive averages of 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game while playing for Golden State.

This past summer was particularly noteworthy for Curry as he represented the United States at the Summer Olympics in Paris, a first in his career. He led the team in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game and played a pivotal role in securing a gold medal.

The Warriors are set to commence their season on October 23, facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers.
