The Bridgerton producer is venturing into a comedic murder mystery series for Netflix. Here’s what we know about the show.

An official dinner at the White House goes horribly wrong! Inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s novel of the same name, Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Bridgerton) is bringing a new series to Netflix on March 20, 2025: The Residence. This comedic murder mystery is set in the iconic residence of the President of the United States, where a murder has just occurred.

The nation’s top detective, Cordelia Cupp, arrives to immediately begin the investigation and pinpoint the perpetrator. The show sets a tone similar to Knives Out, renowned for its meticulous cinematography and featuring Daniel Craig as the detective.

To unravel the clues and find the perpetrator, Shonda Rhimes has trusted Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black, Mrs. America, Tallulah), who is joined by Randall Park (Always be my maybe), Edwina Findley (Fear the Walking Dead), Molly Griggs (Servant), and Giancarlo Esposito (The Boys, The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad).
