@  SadLakerFan : (16 September 2015 - 04:37 AM) Man, as a Laker fan, I'm learning how little you care about the off season when your team sucks. Anyway, a quick moment to remember Moses. Still remember watching the 81 team as a kid - losing record, NBA Finals. I would have cried w/joy if they could have beaten the Celtics.

@  Mario Peña : (13 September 2015 - 05:24 PM) Sad to see Moses pass. I don't remember watching him as a Rocket but I do remember his Philly and Hawks teams. He was the perfect man to mentor Dream. It's a very sad day for his family and friends and there are many.

I think we could all agree that I should get Harden again this year. Most of you criticized my decision of taking him way up and he had a monster MVP caliber season. So, for superstitious reasons, I should get him again this year so he can produce like last year, and as Rockets fans, we ought to agree on that  ;)

DMo is the only playoff ready PF on the list.

D-Mo hasn´t played yet. First year, he wasn't even in the squad on a regular basis (RGV). Second year, Jones was the starter, ultimately benched in favor of Asik. This last time around, missed the whole playoffs. He is not playoff ready, but I'm on board with him being the undisputed PF.

What if Howard opts out? Should we stretch ourselves paying him the big bucks he'll be seeking for or should we bet on Jones at PF and Motiejunas at 5? Even though his defense isn't stout, he provides post game which we all know is needed to some degree. And doing that from the 4 spot with Howard on the other side tends to clog the paint, not to mention Howard might not be as on board as he was when he got back from injury to "go with the flow"....I think it all depends on Howard ultimately, whether he wants to stick around or not.

I think the main reason Prigioni came to town it's because he is a good distributor. Even though he is not exactly a playmaker, you have some of those already on the bench: Smith can create a little, Jones with space can too, Brewer knows how to get open....what we needed was someone with high IQ that can give those guys an opportunity to get to their comfortable spots and do their thing.

As much as I like Canaan, he is a SG in a PG body, he does not create for others. If you have good role players that can't create for themselves but can get you 10 points in a hurry if they get hot, you need someone that gets them the ball.

Beverley will still be our starting PG, now we have someone adequate to play PG instead of asking the Jet to do that. I honestly preferred Calderon because of his percentages, but Prigioni isn't much worse as a shooter. He won't play much in the playoffs though, but he can be serviceable right now to lessen Harden's burden as a de-facto PG. I certainly have more faith in him as a ball handler than in Beverley.

In Topic: Wait...Dragic can be had for a draft pick?

18 February 2015 - 04:51 PM

"A team that acquires Dragic now would also have his Bird rights in July, a major bargaining chip in free agency. Several reports say Dragic, through his agent, have given the Suns a list of preferred destinations, but that the Rockets, one of the clubs that had been pursuing him, are not among the places Dragic would stay. That would put Houston in the difficult position of giving up assets for someone who would bolster its playoff hopes, except as a short-term rental who would leave after the season."
